Metrolink Matters The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is known as Giving Tuesday, an opportunity for people and organizations to transform their communities and the world with the power of generosity. In the spirit of the holidays, we are extending this tradition to every Tuesday in December as we celebrate charitable organizations each week in our first Giving Tuesday series!
The first organization we are recognizing for Giving Tuesday is Friends of the Children – Los Angeles, a provider of long-term support to youth and their families impacted by foster care from kindergarten to high school graduation, no matter what.
A Giving Tuesday gift from you means that Friends LA can continue to stay on the frontlines of this fight for families. That means providing extra help for a child struggling with distance learning and threatening to fall behind his peers. Or connecting a parent who wants to be there for her child with mental health resources. Or simply being lending an ear when a youth wants to talk about why playgrounds are closed yet again.
