While you and your family may not be able to ride Metrolink to the California Science Center right now, you can bring some of the fun home with Stuck at Home Science. The California Science Center is sharing activities that encourage families to explore, investigate, and learn together without leaving home. These activities use common household items and are geared towards a variety of ages so all mad scientists can enjoy the fun of learning. The Science Center is also providing extra opportunities for discovery with new videos and activities published every weekday at 10 a.m.
Kids will love activities like the Science Center’s Build It! Car Factory. Instructions are provided to help kids imagine and create a toy car out of items that can be found around the house. Worksheets are provided to help parents and students dive into learning together. While some videos are filmed at the Science Center in front of exhibits your children might recognize, other videos are filmed from the homes of Science Center scientists.
Stuck at Home Science provides exciting and relevant activities to stretch and grow young minds. One LIVE video titled Germ Talk, explains microscopic organisms in a way that is easy for young scientists to understand. There are plenty of videos, with more being added each day, to activate your young scientists’ curiosity.
Hopefully, California will be up and running again soon, but in the meantime, Metrolink is committed to connecting local families with ways to keep moving and growing.
