L.A. Union Station’s Cocoa Concert Series Continues This Friday!

For those of you who were unable to attend L.A. Union Station’s Annual Tree Lighting and Cocoa Concert, they are continuing the latter effort with three more Cocoa Concerts starting this week! Concerts will be for the next three Fridays (December 6, 13 and 20) from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on the South Patio.

This season’s Cocoa Concert series will feature:

  • Friday, Dec. 6, 6:30 p.m. – Latin beats from The Conganas
  • Friday, Dec. 13, 6:30 p.m. – The swinging sounds of the Hi-Fi Honeydrops
  • Friday, Dec. 20, 6:30 p.m. – Special guest performers to be announced.

Each family-friendly holiday celebration is a winter wonderland featuring free cocoa flowing from “Cocoa Bars” with Elftenders, Santa selfies and our very own “Candy Cane Lane” where a custom neon photo-op will make your season bright alongside a soaring Candy Cane Queen and holiday-themed arts, crafts, interactive games and entertainment.

Don’t miss the marshmallow eating contest where winners will celebrate their sweet victory with prizes and sticky fingers.

Led by percussionist Christian Moraga, the Conganas (which means “with passion”) feature some of the most talented and experienced players in the Los Angeles music scene. The band has quickly created their unique Latin sound by replicating a full Latin orchestra with a quartet and delivering a spellbinding show that will have guests on their feet all evening.

The undulating pure swing beats of the Hi-Fi Honeydrops is driven by a talented quintet featuring three guitars, a bass fiddle and a spirited clarinet that delivers a unique spin on the Great American Songbook. This inventive band has created a fresh sound that is truly unique in the Los Angeles music scene with arrangements that often combine multiple melodies and electric guitar harmonies with woodwinds and vocals, allowing guests to dance their way into the holiday season.

Stop by before you take Metrolink home for the weekend and get a little holiday cheer!
