27 Places You Should Go to With Metrolink During Our 27th Anniversary

Metrolink is celebrating 27 years of taking riders to some of the greatest destinations and experiences in Southern California. It has truly been an honor to serve our riders, reduce roadway congestion and increase traffic safety. In commemoration of nearly three decades of service, here is a list of 27 places you would be remiss not to travel to with Metrolink!

Amusement Parks

  1. Disneyland
    Journey to the Happiest Place on Earth with one of Southern California’s easiest modes of transportation. Why not enjoy Downtown Disney while you’re there? The ART shuttle will take you to and from Anaheim – ARTIC station for free!
  2. Six Flags Magic Mountain & Hurricane Harbor
    Traveling to the Thrill Capital of the World is relaxing and convenient with Metrolink. After arriving at the Antelope Valley Line’s Newhall Station, just 15 minutes from the front gates, Santa Clarita Transit will carry you the rest of the way to the park.
  3. Knott’s Berry Farm/Soak City
    First-class roller coasters, delicious food and family fun await at Knott’s Berry Farm and the adjacent waterpark, Soak City. From the Buena Park Metrolink station, riders can easily access Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) buses which will quickly transport them down Beach Boulevard to the gates of Knott’s Berry Farm.
  4. Universal Studios
    A Metro Red Line transfer from L.A. Union Station is seamless with your Metrolink ticket. The new Metro pedestrian bridge, located at the corner of Lankershim and Universal Hollywood Drive, provides safe and easy access from the Universal City Red Line station to the free Universal Studios shuttle stop without having to cross any busy intersections. The shuttle will take you directly to the main entrances of Universal Studios Hollywood and CityWalk Hollywood as well as bring you back to the bridge when your day is done.

Beaches

  1. Santa Monica
    Take Metrolink to L.A. Union Station and transfer onto the Red/Purple Lines and the new Expo Line to beautiful Santa Monica beaches.
  2. San Clemente
    Leave your car and worries behind by taking Metrolink’s Orange County or Inland Empire-Orange County lines to the coast. Just exit at the San Clemente Pier Metrolink Station.
  3. Oceanside
    Enjoy one of California’s most-loved beaches and Metrolink’s southern-most destinations by taking the Metrolink to Oceanside Metrolink Station.
  4. El Segundo
    When you take the LAX FlyAway, you’re just one mile away from El Segundo’s awesome beach town vibe.

  1. The Shops at Mission Viejo
    Located close to the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo Station, you can use OCTA’s new OC Flex service for free with your ticket. They’ll pick you up and drop you off at the mall in no time!
  2. Irvine Spectrum Center
    Irvine Spectrum Center is one of Southern California’s most popular shopping, dining and entertainment destinations. Join their 18 million annual visitors by transferring to OCTA iShuttle Route 403D. It will take you from Irvine Station to Irvine Spectrum Center.
  3. Citadel Outlets
    Its historical façade is not its only attractive quality! Citadel Outlets now boasts 130 brand-name stores offering 30%-70% off retail prices. Take Metrolink to L.A. Union Station and then hop on the shuttle to the Citadel Outlets for free.
  4. Ontario Mills Mall
    Ontario Mills, California’s largest outlet and value retail shopping destination, is an indoor climate-controlled mall providing the ultimate shopping experience with more than 200 stores. The East Ontario Metrolink Station is only 4 miles from the fun.
  5. Montclair Place
    Montclair Place is a 1.2 million-square-foot indoor shopping mall with shopping, dining and entertainment experiences for everyone.
  6. Galleria at Tyler
    You’ll find yourself in the retail, dining and entertainment hub of Riverside County when you pay a visit to Galleria at Tyler. This premier shopping center features the finest collection of department stores and specialty brands in the region including more than 180 of your favorite shops and restaurants.
  7. Burbank Town Center
    Burbank Town Center is 25 minutes from Los Angeles and offers more than 170 retail shops, restaurants, entertainment venues and lifestyle services. Regional rail service connects downtown Los Angeles to the Antelope Valley and Ventura County with stops in Downtown Burbank.
  8. Camarillo Premium Outlets

    Enjoy the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, La Brea Tar Pits, Peterson Automotive Museum and much more between Fairfax and Curson on Museum Row at Miracle Mile. The Glendale Station and L.A. Union Station will get you within 7 miles.
  3. Ronald Reagan Presidential Library
    With your Metrolink ticket, enjoy a free transfer to Metro Rail from Simi Valley Station for a convenient trip to Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Home to over 60 million pages of documents, over 1.6 million photographs and more, you will be immersed in Reagan’s legacy.

City Centers

  1. Los Angeles
    Enjoy everything the City of Angels has to offer from Hollywood to Chinatown without the hassle of driving. This perfect day trip for out-of-town visitors and California natives alike is easily accessible from L.A. Union Station.

Entertainment

  1. Dodger Stadium
    In 2018, Metrolink announced its partnership with Metro Buses to get Dodger Fans to the stadium. On Friday and select Saturday Dodgers home games, take Metrolink to the game and avoid the stress of parking.
  2. Angel Stadium
    During baseball season, fans can ride to Angel Stadium for only $7 roundtrip on the Metrolink Angels Express. The distance between the stadium and the station is just a 10-minute walk!
  3. Anywhere in the World
