Metrolink Partners with FASTLinkDTLA to increase connections in Los Angeles through a $2 Ride Hailing App

We’ve recently entered a mobility partnership with the community non-profit FASTLinkDTLA to make more transportation connections around the Downtown Los Angeles area through the mobility app flexLA!

flexLA is a ride hailing app that serves only the Downtown Los Angeles area and charges just $2 per person per ride. flexLA operates a fleet of 12 Mercedes Benz seven-person vans, from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Metrolink tickets cannot be used as fare onboard flexLA vans.

Seniors and persons who are mobility impaired can call on-demand special needs partner ButterFli at 855.267.2FLI (2354). ButterFli drivers are specially trained to assist persons with mobility devices.

The partnership helps riders take advantage of our new additional Friday late-night roundtrip on the San Bernardino Line that departs Los Angeles Union Station at 11:30 p.m.  The late-night service allows people to skip traffic and parking costs while enjoying great dining, a concert, play or sporting event in Downtown L.A.

flexLA launched last October in a partnership with FASTLinkDTLA, a public-private partnership that serves as the transportation management organization (TMO) for downtown Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) and Metro as it is partially funded through a Metro ExpressLanes grant. The flexLA app is available for free download in English and Spanish at the Apple App Store and Google Play. flexLA’s app is run by ReachNow, formerly moovel.

flexLA also serves the low-income community by offering free transportation for qualified persons who register by calling 833.Go2.DTLA (462.3852).

The general boundaries for the service are Union Station to the north, the ten freeway on the south, the 101 freeway on the east and the 110 freeway on the west.
