Take the Pledge to go Green on Earth Day with a FREE RIDE!

Earth Day is Monday and we want you to take the pledge to go green and take public transit! Plus, we are offering FREE rides for all riders on Earth Day, Monday, April 22, so that you can see how easy taking the train is compared to driving.

Let your friends and family know that you are doing your part to help make a positive impact on the environment on Earth Day by sharing the pledge on Facebook or Twitter and don’t forget to use #FreeEarthDayTrains!

Did you know that if 1,000 people gave up their cars and rode Metrolink on Earth Day, they would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 23,472 pounds, which is the equivalent of the carbon sequestered by a 12-acre forest, the size of 10 football fields? Talk about an easy way to make a difference – all while you’re relaxing on the train! There are even more environmental fun facts on our website at metrolinktrains.com/FreeRides.

You can even get a free Metrolink reusable tote bag or a plantable seed bookmark Monday morning between 5 and 8 a.m. by stopping by our special pop-up booths at L.A. Union Station, Fullerton Station, Riverside-Downtown Station,  San Bernardino-Depot, Santa Clarita Station or the Simi Valley Station as a special thanks for taking the train!

Plus, if you download the Metrolink Mobile App now through Earth Day, you can receive a free Round-Trip ticket to go green another day!

And don’t worry about crowding. We are preparing for the additional riders on Earth Day by adding cars to our high-capacity trains, increasing customer service and call center support, adding ambassadors at high traffic stations and platforms, while providing increased social media support for rider engagement.

If your destination is in L.A., the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) will offer free rides on Metro Bus, Rail and Bike Share Systems on Earth Day. If you’re in the San Bernardino Valley, Omnitrans is offering a free mobile day pass via Token Transit for use during Earth Week (April 22–26). The pass link will become active on April 21 or people can download the free Token Transit app that week.

Our Earth Day service has been made possible by our sponsors, South Coast AQMD, STV, and AnyoneTM Collective.
