Service interruptions this weekend on IEOC and OC lines, delays expected

Due to scheduled track work on Saturday and Sunday, March 2 and 3, Metrolink service will operate as scheduled on Orange County Line trains only between L. A. Union Station and Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo and on Inland Empire-Orange County Line trains only between San Bernardino – Downtown and Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo.

Metrolink will provide alternate bus service for only OC Line trains 660, 661, 666 and 667 and IEOC Line trains 857 and 860. Riders can anticipate delays of up to 60 minutes as buses stop at connecting stations along the corridor.

OC trains 662, 663, 664 and 665 and IEOC trains 859 and 858 will only travel as far as Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo station, and no bus service will be provided for these trains.

There will be NO Metrolink train service between Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo and Oceanside.

Riders are encouraged to plan ahead if traveling between Oceanside Laguna and Niguel/Mission Viejo on affected weekends, while also using Metrolink’s train tracker for real-time updates.

During to the scheduled track work, Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner trains will not operate south of Irvine, with limited bus-bridge service provided between Irvine and San Diego, while NCTD’s COASTER will not operate between Oceanside and San Diego. There will be no replacement bus service connecting to COASTER station stops.

FUTURE CLOSURES

The following are the tentative weekend dates for upcoming rail closures. Dates are tentative and may change at any time due to weather constraints or construction needs.
