Metrolink Matters Metrolink has begun a new strategic approach to reach motorists in Southern California by displaying Public Service Announcements (PSAs) in three Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) offices.
These 30-second PSAs will play every 15 minutes, for a total of 160 a week and 8,320 times in the next 12 months. The average wait time at the DMV is approximately 45-55 minutes, which will allow motorists the opportunity to see the PSA multiple times during their visit.
The PSA reminds motorists to never stop on tracks at crossings and how to use the Emergency Notification System (ENS) if their vehicle is stalled on the tracks.
The three DMV locations were selected after determining which cities had poor motorist behavior. These DMV locations include Fullerton, Lincoln Park and Van Nuys, where approximately one million motorists will see the PSA.
