Rail 2 Rail Blackouts Begin Tomorrow until Tuesday, plus Labor Day Service

The Rail 2 Rail® program will be suspended for all Amtrak trains between tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 31 and Tuesday, Sept. 4 as Amtrak anticipates higher than usual ridership for the Labor Day holiday on the Ventura County, Orange County and Inland Empire-Orange County lines. The Rail 2 Rail® program will resume on Wednesday, Sept. 5.

The Rail 2 Rail® program typically allows Metrolink Monthly Pass holders along the Orange County and Ventura County corridors to travel on Amtrak Pacific Surfliner® trains within the station pairs of their pass at no additional charge, including Saturdays and Sundays.

Riders are encouraged to check which Metrolink schedules will work best for the regular weekday commutes and holiday travel plans.

Metrolink is still a great option for holiday weekend travel to help avoid traffic and parking fees. For just $10 on weekends, you can take to many great destinations including the beaches of San Clemente, theme parks or even the LA County Fair!

On Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3, we’re offering a Sunday/Holiday schedule for just $10 all day!

Enjoy the last summer holiday weekend by taking the train!
