Weekday Day Trips on the Ventura County Line

The cities along the Ventura County Line are some of the L.A. area’s best kept secrets. From museums, to shopping or just being one with nature, there’s a great day to be had.

The station cities on the west side of Ventura County, including Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo, Moorpark and Simi Valley can all be reached by train and are interconnected through the Ventura Intercity Service Transit Authority and is included with your Metrolink ticket.

Some of the great things to see and do include shopping at more than 160 stores at the Camarillo Premium Outlets or at the Downtown Oxnard Farmers Market where you can get your hands on locally grown fruits, flowers and veggies. Take some time to appreciate art and culture by visiting the Skateboarding Hall of Fame and Museum in Simi Valley, the California Museum of Art Thousand Oaks or the Carnegie Art Museum in Oxnard – which reopens with a new exhibit next week! Learn about America’s recent history and the legacy of the 40th President of United States at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley – home to Air Force One and a section of the Berlin Wall.

Please be aware the Metrolink Commuter Shuttle between the Moorpark Station and Thousand Oaks will cease operations on Friday, June 29. There are many other transit connections are included with your Metrolink ticket.
