Metrolink Eats: Satisfy Your Grilled Cheese Craving

Did you know that today is National Grilled Cheese Day? Not only does one of America’s favorite comfort foods have its own celebratory day, April is National Grilled Cheese Month!

We here at Metrolink love a grilled cheese sandwich as much as the next person, but we love that there are restaurants specializing in these ooey, gooey delicacies right near some of our stations!

Here are seven places you can celebrate today for National Grilled Cheese Day, this month for National Grilled Cheese Month or anytime because these sandwiches are always a great idea.

Orange County Line        

Black Sheep Grilled Cheese Bar is located in the Anaheim Packing House about four miles from the Anaheim/ARTIC Metrolink Station. This grilled cheese bar has a nine different sandwiches with cheeses ranging from fontina, goat, mozzarella or even just classic “Kraft.”

Inland Empire-Orange County Line and Orange County Line

Grater Grilled Cheese is nearby the Irvine Metrolink Station and is the only location in Orange County. You can choose between some of their chef’s creations or build-your-own sandwich and even better, you can pair it with a craft beer. Voted the best grilled cheese in San Diego, they are truly “making the work a GRATER place, one grilled cheese at a time.”

Ventura County Line

San Bernardino Line

The Melt is a cheese lover’s dream. There are multiple locations throughout Southern California, including one right near the Rancho Cucamonga Metrolink Station at Victoria Gardens and in Downtown L.A. at FIGat7th.

L.A. Union Station

Downtown L.A. has a lot of great options, too! By using your Metrolink ticket, you can take advantage of Metro Rail to get around the city and discover these great places:

Melt It! A Grilled Cheese Co. just off the Lake Station on the Gold Line in Pasadena.

Asiago Grilled Cheese, located near Pershing Square, this sandwich shop is only open for breakfast and lunch for the perfect meal to get you through your day.

DTLA Cheese at Grand Central Market is a gourmet cheese shop that lets you create the grilled cheese of your dreams.
