Metrolink Is A Star!

 

Most Southern Californian’s knows someone who knows someone who has been an extra in a Hollywood production and Metrolink is no exception.

While most productions are filmed in studios throughout Los Angeles, there are times when it’s easier for film crews to go on location throughout the region. Not only can you take Metrolink to some of these famous filming sites, but our trains have made cameos in a few productions as well. You never know, maybe your train will make a cameo on your next ride.

  • In the opening of the music video, a Metrolink train can be seen from the prison Lady Gaga is held in.

Criminal Minds – Broken – Season 8, Episode 15

  • In opening scene, a Metrolink train passes near Crown Valley and Soledad Canyon roads in Acton along the Antelope Valley Line.

Storage Wars – The French Job – Season 4, Episode 13

  • As the buyers travel to Laguna Niguel, they travel along a southbound Metrolink train on the Orange County Line.

Lincoln Motor Company – “#Steer The Script” – 2013 Superbowl Commercial

  • At the 1:11 mark, the Lincoln MKZ car zooms under a rail crossing with a Metrolink train crossing over head.

 

Metrolink Stations are also close to some famous filming locations.

The Orange Station is steps from Old Towne Orange, which was a backdrop for American Horror Story: Cult, That Thing You Do and Crimson Tide. 

The Santa Ana Station was used in the film 1998 Rain Man starring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise.

Fans of the show Veronica Mars can take a trip to the Oceanside Station and explore the streets of the fictional Neptune, California.

Los Angeles Union Station and surroundings sites in Downtown L.A., such as Angels Flight, the Bradbury Building, Grand Central Market and Chinatown have been seen in countless classic films, including La La Land and The Artist. These can be found with a connecting transfer to the Metro Rail system with your Metrolink ticket.
