On Sunday, April 1, Amtrak will have schedule changes that may impact Metrolink riders who rely on a train as part of the Rail2Rail Program.
The train that currently operates as A761 will operate on its current schedule between Oceanside and Los Angeles. However, it will be called A561.
However, between Los Angeles and Goleta, the train will depart approximately 3 hours earlier, at 4:09 a.m., and operate as A759. This means any Metrolink rider who currently relies on A761 to travel eastbound on the Ventura County Line on weekday mornings will have to take a train that departs Los Angeles Union Station either three hours earlier or an hour and a half later.
This change allows Amtrak to operate a train on weekdays that departs Los Angeles Union Station and arrives in Santa Barbara by 8 a.m.
Both A759 and A561 will continue to accept Metrolink Monthly Passes as part of the Rail2Rail Program
