Metrolink took hundreds of race fans to the Monster Energy NASCAR Auto Club 400 at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana on Sunday, March 18.
Metrolink has partnered with the Auto Club Speedway to take race fans to the event from Oxnard, Lancaster and Oceanside since the first race in 1997. Now, with support from the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD), Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC), Metrolink offered free round-trip tickets to race fans who purchased Auto Club 400 race tickets. This allowed riders to focus on supporting their favorite driver without the added stress of driving, traffic or parking.
Trains arrived at the Auto Club Speedway in the morning, letting fans have a few hours to enjoy all the race day activities before seeing Martin Truex Jr. win with a margin of victory of 11.685 seconds over runner-up Kyle Larson. Truex finished the race with a time of 2:42:41.
